Himss Europe has organised a gathering of stakeholders in the eHealth Industry, the WoHIT (World of Health IT) event took place at Centre de Convencions Internacional (CCIB) de Barcelona on 21st and 22nd of November 2016. This inaugural event has had something for everybody, starting with a truly engaging and rich program which included 6 main plenary Summits:
– mHealth summit
– CIO Summit
– Cyber Security Summit
– Genomics Summit
– Integrated Care
– and The HIMSS Europe Communities
On the top of all of this, the participants could also engage with WoHIT Speak, a place where hand-pick subjects were presented and discussed in detail. The Entrepreneurial Village, where new innovative solutions from the start-up world exposed their products to the attendees and the Speakers Corner with a fast paced presentation format enabling companies to make an impact with audiences keen to hear more.
I would love to share, as much as I can in this article however I must admit that this is an enormous task due to the size (in dimension and in experience ) of the event and all of the happenings.
Starting with the opening on day 1, a truly awesome heartfelt experience led by an artistic Director on the Journey of self-discovery with sounds, interactions and creations of music melodies all done by the attendees with individual allocated instruments.
As previously mentioned, it would be impossible to mention everything therefore I am forced to select some events.
I couldn’t write any longer without congratulate the organisers Himss Europe in partnership with ECHAlliance, on a truly awesome conference. Now moving on to the camaraderie amongst colleagues, friends and of course Social Media Ambassadors ( Twitter addicts ).
I must give a mention to the #pinksocks movement, disrupting healthcare on the global scale. For all of those that looked perplexed about the #pinksocks, this is a movement of those committed to change the healthcare industry for the better for all of us ( specially those receiving it ).
(When this picture was taken , I had a strange look by two young ladies and I Immediately explained why and what it meant ).
It great to connect with some many industry friends, many of them we already interacted with on twitter and finally met in person ( it happens so often in these days), reencounter familiar faces and meet the regular industry protagonists too.
One session that really goes in line with my work ethic of “ work hard, but have fun “ was – Healthcare, Remix by Dr. Zubin Damania aka ZDoggMD. That was a blast…..seriously….that guy next to me couldn’t stop laughing and I was trying to enjoy, tweet, film and of course laugh at the same time.
Here’s some snippets for you to enjoy :
I can’t ended the article without mentioned by friend Michael Dillhyon (@SwissGator ), a true expert in Blockchain in Healthcare and serial entrepreneur, Co-Founder of HealthBank and YouBaseio amongst others. I also had the opportunity to tell him that I am true fan, also he flew from US to share his expertise with us.
( I couldn’t miss the opportunity to have a #pinksocks moment )
To round up I would love to leave you some dates for your diaries. We have the eHealth week in Malta 10-12 of May 2017. eHealth Week 2017 is organised by the Maltese Ministry of Health as part of their Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the European Commission, and HIMSS Europe.
